涼しい気持ちにしてくれました
なんの脈絡もなく、なんらかの曲が頭のなかでエンドレス状態になることってありません？
今日、ホントに脈絡なしで僕の頭のなかではアンブロージアの「You're The Only Woman」が延々と流れていたのだ。
もう何年も聴いてなかったのに。
でも、そうなると無性に聴きたくなるのは当然で、帰宅後にこの曲のはいった『One Eighty』を引っ張り出してみた。
おひさしぶり〜。
もともとは、プログレッシヴ・ロックをやっていた人たちだ。
「Crying In The Rain」あたりにはプログレ時代の感覚も垣間見え、それはそれで悪くないですね。
典型的なアメリカン・プログレ。
だけどやっぱり、それ以上にすばらしいのは大ヒットした「You're The Only Woman」や「Biggest Part Of Me」に代表されるAOR路線だな。
このソフトな感覚は、いま聴いても新鮮！
暑い日に、冷えた部屋で聴くとなお爽快！
今日も暑くてまいったが、涼しくなってきた夕方にこれらを聴いたら、ちょっとクール・ダウンできたぞ。
