厄介なものを思い出してしまった
朝、CD棚に並んでいたレッド・ツェッペリンの『CODA』と目があって、そしたらとんでもないものを思い出してしまった。
ドレッド・ツェッペリンである。いっておくがレッド・ツェッペリンではない。
ヴォーカリストのトートエルヴィスが、クルマで牛乳配達をしているときバンドのクルマと衝突。
そのとき彼の前に現れた神から「エルヴィス・プレスリーそっくりの格好をしてレッド・ツェッペリンの曲をレゲエでカヴァーせよ」と啓示を受けたことがバンド結成のきっかけとか、そういう話を当時どこかで読んだことがある。
が、そんなくだらない話はどうでもいいのだ。なぜなら音だけで充分にくだらないからだ。そして、それがもうスンバラシイからだ。
聴くのは10年ぶりぐらいだったんだけど、いまでも充分にイケると痛感！
気の抜けたサイダー以上にユルい「Black Dog」、最高ですぜ！
「Whole Lotta Love」あたりはわりかしフツーなんだけど、「わりかしフツー」とかいってる時点でどっぷりとこのバンドにハメられているという恐ろしい構図がある。
たぶん、この人たちって天才です（いや天災？）。
