ひさしぶりにヘヴィ・メタル（朝から）
思えば、ヘヴィ・メタルを聴かなくなってから、ずいぶん時間がたっていた。
理由はないのだ。別に毛嫌いしていたわけでもない。
なんとなく、自分に縁のない世界だという意識はあったけど。
でも、いまどうなっているのかなと思って、ジューダス・プリーストの最新作『エンジェル・オブ・レトリビューション』を聴いてみた。
ヴォーカリストのロブ・ハルフォード復帰作としても話題になってますね。
で、内容なんだけど、
ちょっと感動した。
15年前の『ペイン・キラー』とか、あのころのまんまじゃないすか。
ヘヴィ・メタルという音楽の様式美を貫いているわけで、それはそれでとても価値のあることだと思ったな。
そして、ちょっと笑ってしまった。
ともあれ、たまに聴くと気持ちいーっすね。
いま朝の10時半すぎなんですけど、全然違和感ないです。
そういえば、長らく会っていない九州の叔母がジューダス・プリーストのファンだったことをいま思い出した。
「今度のジューダスは、けっこううるさくていいのよ」とかいう話を、「なんなんだよこのオバサンは？」と驚きつつ聞いていた記憶がある。僕がまだ高校生だったころのこと。
もうすぐ日本公演だけど、あの叔母も行くのかな？
福岡公演あるから、行くのかもしれないな。
もう70すぎてるんですけど。
